Where the Labradoodle comes from
The Labradoodle was first bred in Australia in the late 1980s as a guide dog suitable for people with allergies. The idea worked for some dogs, but coat types vary a lot.
Personality and daily life
Friendly, bouncy and clever. Labradoodles are social and love people, and need company and activity.
Labradoodles mix Labrador friendliness with Poodle brains. Coats vary, and most need regular grooming even if they shed less.
Exercise, grooming and health
Around an hour of exercise a day. Coats range from straight to curly, and most need regular brushing and a clip every few months. Health depends on the parent breeds, so ask for both parents' tests.
