Where the Australian Cattle Dog comes from
Created in Australia in the 1800s to move cattle over long distances in harsh heat, the Cattle Dog came from crossing dingoes and Collies with other herding breeds.
Personality and daily life
Alert, tough and loyal to one or two people. Cattle Dogs may nip at heels, are wary of strangers, and need firm, kind training.
Cattle Dogs are tireless and bond tightly to one person or family. They need work, training and room to run.
Exercise, grooming and health
A lot of exercise and a job such as agility or herding. The short coat sheds but is easy to care for. Deafness and eye problems can occur.
