About Your Dog Match

Your Dog Match is a site for people who are trying to choose a dog. The swiping game is the part most people start with, but there is a lot more here: a profile for every breed, guides for common situations and a leaderboard of popular breeds.

What you can do here

  • Swipe: go through the breeds one at a time and tap love or pass. After every 10 swipes you get the breed that fits your taste best.
  • Look up any breed: each of the 54 breeds has its own page with size, energy, history, grooming and health notes, and whether it suits children or apartments. You can filter the list by any of those.
  • Read the guides: lists such as the best breeds for apartments, for first-time owners or for families with children.
  • See what is popular: the most popular breeds according to kennel club registrations and to this site's own swipes.
  • Check how matching works: the exact scoring, with every breed's values in a table.

Where the information comes from

Breed profiles are general guides based on published breed descriptions and kennel club standards. Photos are loaded from the Dog CEO image collection. Every dog is different, so meet the dog, and talk to a breeder, shelter or vet, before you choose one.

A breed is missing

Use the request box at the bottom of the breed list. We review every request and add breeds that fit. For anything else, see the contact page.
